About me

Al Lardo is Principal and Managing Member of Ellsworth Equities, a Pittsburgh based full service real estate investment, development and Property Management company specifically focused on office, residential and mixed-use projects in East End neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.

My experience

In 2008 Al and his father initially made investment in the East End focused exclusively on self-funded multifamily residential properties in Shadyside. In 2013 Ellsworth and its affiliates expanded investment to commercial assets and led acquisition, capital procurement, asset management, and development of nearly 40 acres of land and 1 million SF of space in the East End of Pittsburgh. More recently, Ellsworth closed financing and started adaptive reuse construction of a multi-phase, 8-building,25-acre mixed-use project in Point Breeze North, called Rockwell Park. The $150 million project secured 3M as the anchor tenant and will showcase a rebirth of a once vibrant innovation ecosystem with unique and authentic offerings of office, experiential retail, food, and beverage, and will include a $50million residential project in collaboration with Camp 8 Capital. Concurrent with Ellsworth, Al served as Director of Cardiovascular Imaging Research in the Division of Cardiology at Johns Hopkins University, holding appointments as Associate Professor in both Medicine and Biomedical Engineering. He has published over150 articles and has more than 70 issued/pending patents in the field of medical imaging/devices. From this intellectual property, Alco-founded and served on served as C Suite executive for multiple MedTech ventures that have achieved public exists. Al has also served on several boards and advisory committees for both private and public companies. He is married with two adult children and currently resides in Squirrel Hill.
