The ALDI at 401 Penn Avenue represents a major step forward in Ellsworth Equities’ long-term investment in Wilkinsburg. As the first national grocery store to open in the borough in decades, it addresses a critical need in a USDA-designated food desert and builds on the momentum of our nearby work at Rockwell Park. This project received RCAP assistance and reflects a community-first approach to development that prioritizes real access over headlines. The store offers curbside pickup, grocery delivery, and a range of affordable, high-quality products. More importantly, it brings a lasting resource to a neighborhood that deserves it.
